While recreational vehicles, also known as RVs, may get gas mileage comparable to or even worse than SUVs, these mobile homes have seen increasing usage in spite of rising gas prices, according to a Tuesday release from the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association.

“In spite of gas prices, renting an RVs is still much less expensive than flying,” said Richard Coon, president of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association. “And when you figure in the airline hassle factor, including long security lines, delayed flights, and lost luggage, it’s easy to see why RV rentals are on the rise.”

The RV rental market is seeing double-digit increases in reservations, according to the Association. At campgrounds, where RVs can hook up water, electricity, and stay for as little as $10 to $15 a night, bookings are also higher this summer.

Denise Coggins, an RV owner from the suburbs of Detroit, Mich., said the great thing about RVs is saving so much money on lodging because of the relatively cheap campground rates.

“You used up your money on gas, but now you are hooked up with water and electricity,” said Coggins, who frequently vacations in Stratford, Canada. “For a bed and breakfast [in Stratford] you will be paying $125 to $145 a night, maybe more.”

Compare that to $10 to $15 a night at an RV campground and the savings outweigh the increased cost of gasoline.

Families can expect to pay about $1,500 a week to rent an RV. In addition, based on a 700 mile trip (the average for an RV rental) at about 10 mpg, fuel will cost about $315 (based on $4.50 a gallon). On average, a campground reservation for six nights will cost about $195.

“A lot of families come in to rent an RV and are actually surprised that they can get away for a week for $2,000,” said Joe Laing at El Monte RV, a nationwide RV rental agency. “Whether it’s a father and son on a bonding trip or a family of six seeing the sights, $2,000 for everything is a great deal.”

RV renters really save money on meals. The average RVing family of four spends $38 a day on food. Compare that to a family of four staying at a hotel with no way to store, prepare, and cook meals; for them, the cost of food can easily hit $150 a day.

Learning as much as you can about what you are buying gives you the best start possible and ensures that you get what you want without making costly mistakes. When looking for Audi used cars for sale then go online and gather as much information about the make and model you are considering purchasing. Along with ensuring you know what to look for on the car such as any faults, you also need information regarding such as how you would finance the purchase. You also need to compare how much it would cost to insure your car; this of course is to make sure that it would be affordable.

The insurance part is easy to deal with, go online with a specialist motoring website and simply type in the make and model of the car you have in mind. The premium for the insurance is based on many factors. Some of the most important is how old you are, the size of the engine and model of the car, the cost and age of the car. A newer model would cost more to insure than an older one and the younger you are the more expensive the insurance. An Audi with a bigger engine is also more expensive to put on the road than one with a smaller engine. Once you have found out that the car would be affordable then you can go ahead and work out how you would finance the car.

Having a good credit rating gives you more options for financing. If you are in favor with the lender then you will be able to get the lowest rates of interest. Depending on how much the used car is going to cost will also reflect on the type of loan you would be better off applying for. If you only need a small loan you could consider looking around for a deal that comes with 0% interest for a period of time. This is the most affordable type of loan if you can pay it back within this time frame. You do have to watch out for an early repayment fee attached with this type of borrowing. For example if you take a 0% deal for 6 months over a period of 18 months and then pay off the loan in 8 months you might have to pay a lump sum fee.

Once you have found which finance option would be more suitable and have begun looking for your choice of model from the used cars for sale, then you need to concentrate on remaining safe during the purchase. This particularly applies when buying a used car from dealer. You need to know where the seller lives and visit the car for a test drive at their home. If the seller wants to meet away from home then be wary, as this can be a sign of something amiss. They should be able to present you with all the paperwork associated with ownership of the car so that you are able to check for repairs and you should follow these up with the sources.

After the initial decision to purchase is made the first consideration will be the amount of money you are prepared to pay for a used ATV. Listed below is a basic guide to give you an indication on how far your dollar will go. Secondly you should remember all manufacturers offer different features on their ATV, the basic design and engine capacity may follow a similar pattern but you should look further than that.

Up to $1000. Old 3 wheelers and some even older and very tired 4 wheelers. Expect to be spending time and money to keep these ATV going. Unless absolutely necessary I would recommend you stay away from any unit in this price range unless you are an expert.
$1000- $2000. The typical ATV in this price range will probably be an older 2wd drive although some of the pre 1991 4wd will fall into this range. Be prepared to spend time and money keeping these ATV going. Stay away from this price range if you are going to use the ATV on a regular basis.
$2000- $3000. This price range should provide a range of older 4wd ATV and a few over 250cc Quads. If you are planning to use the ATV more than once per week it would pay to spend a little more money.
$3000- $5000. You should find a good selection of ATV from your local motorcycle shop within this price range that are sold with a limited warranty.
$5000- plus. There are plenty to choose from, pick a colour.
Before handing over the cash make sure you take the following steps:

If you chose to buy privately arrange to have a qualified motorcycle repairer carry out a full workshop appraisal on the ATV. The cost of this will vary but consider it money well spent. Being mechanically minded is not a qualification for inspecting used ATV as there are many traps for the unwary.
Don’t forget to make sure there are no outstanding finance agreements on the ATV. It is also important to make sure the unit isn’t stolen.
Get a test ride on your property and make a comparison with at least one other ATV

Motorcycle riders often get an unjustified reputation as being reckless, risk takers, and that they generally disobey traffic laws. This perception is unfounded and there are many statistics that back up the fact that most motorcycle accidents are not the fault of the motorcycle rider, but that of another driver.

A major study conducted by the University of Southern California (USC) found that approximately three-fourths of motorcycle accidents involved a collision with another vehicle, usually a passenger automobile. It was also found that in the multiple vehicle accidents, the driver of the other vehicle violated the motorcycle right-of-way and caused the accident in two-thirds of those accidents. Further the study by USC found that the failure of motorists to detect and recognize motorcycles in traffic is the predominating cause of motorcycle accidents. The driver of the other vehicle involved in collision with the motorcycle did not see the motorcycle before the collision, or did not see the motorcycle until too late to avoid the collision.

These findings go to show that the motorcycle rider has unjustly received a bad reputation from the general public as well as from insurance companies that cover motorcycle riders. Motorcycles are inherently prone to accidents caused by other drivers because of their small size. Motorcycles easily fit into the blind spot of typical passenger automobiles. The truth is that most motorcycle riders are very good drivers and keep an eye out for motorists who do not see them. This awareness of other drivers however does not prevent all accidents. When accidents such as these happen, the insurance company of the driver who is at fault will go to great lengths to keep from giving the motorcycle rider the money he or she deserves. Insurance companies will frequently rush the victim to make a quick settlement as a way to save money. Most people in the general public are not insurance experts and do not know if they are getting a bad deal from the insurance company or not. When a check is stuck in front of them it can be quite tempting to sign.Taking the insurance companies first offer is usually a mistake. Other times the insurance company of the other driver will try to not pay at all for the accident and resulting injuries. They often try to make it appear that the motorcycle rider was at fault in the accident. It is not hard to convince a jury of this since motorcycle riders have this unjust reputation of being less than careful. This is why it is critically important to have a qualified and competent lawyer on your side if you find yourself the victim of a motorcycle accident. A qualified lawyer will help make sure that you get the settlement that you deserve; a settlement that will cover your medical bills as well as paying for the damage to your motorcycle. Not having a lawyer to stand up for you will cost you more than just money, it will also cause you a great deal of headaches and heartache. Trying to fight an insurance company on your own, while at the same time dealing with physical injuries can be an overwhelming task.

A qualified lawyer is the only one who will be on your side in case of an accident. A lawyer works for you and only you. The insurance company works for their shareholders and will try very hard to keep from getting you the money that you deserve

Founded by Henry Leland and Robert Faulconer, the Cadillac Automobile Company of Detroit completed its first car in October 1902. The firm’s superior manufacturing technology — precise gear cutting was Leland and Faulconer’s specialty — soon established it as the foremost builder of quality cars in the United States. The company was formed using funds supplied by two of Henry Ford’s ex-backers and took its name from Le Sieur Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, the great French 17th century explorer who founded Detroit in 1701.

The car offered here, serial number 13, is the oldest known surviving Cadillac. It was one of three displayed at the New York Automobile Show in January 1903, the others being numbers 10 and 11.
An excellent performer by the standards of the day, the Cadillac’s 98-ci, single-cylinder engine (”Little Hercules”) was mounted on the left beneath the front seat and drove through a two-speed-plus-reverse planetary transmission by chain drive to the rear axle.
This Cadillac was bought by the owner of the Thomas Winery in Cucamonga, CA, where it was displayed until February 1973. At that point it was sold and in 1985 was restored by Herman Stoebel, now deceased. A complete photographic record was made of the restoration, illustrating the various differences — some obvious, some less so — that distinguish the earliest examples from the later production models of 1903. The most obvious differences are the protruding radiator on the earliest cars and the completely different body panel below the first entrance. It is believed that the early radiators were changed after about 25 cars had been made. The three cars displayed at the 1903 New York Auto Show were the first Cadillacs shown to the public and the first ever sold. As the sole survivor of these pioneers, 13 is a vehicle of exceptional importance in the history of the American automobile industry. Quite simply, the Cadillac story started here.

The SCM Analysis This car sold for $330,000, including buyer’s premium, at the Bonhams & Butterfields auction at The Quail Lodge in Carmel Valley on August 17, 2007.
William Metzger was the driving force behind the first auto show in Detroit in 1899, and he was a convincing promoter. He was provided with two or possibly three Cadillacs, which had been produced at the Leland & Faulconer factory, for display at the 1903 New York Auto Show. He declared the Cadillac “sold out” after accepting as many as 2,286 orders (accounts of the total vary) — each with a $10 deposit. Backing up Metzger’s promotional abilities was a Cadillac that offered refinement in an era when many cars looked like a machine shop experiment. The four-passenger model sold for $850, while the single-seater cost $750, a very competitive price in the era.
Pat Herman recalls seeing the 1903 Cadillac at the Thomas Winery in the early 1960s, and was able to purchase the car ten years later. By then the winery had been sold, and the Cadillac was stored in a garage full of old refrigerators and washing machines. The car was missing numerous parts and showed the ravages of time, so the restoration, which was completed in 1989, was not a simple process. Several sources state that there were 2,497 Cadillacs produced in 1903. However, more recent research suggests the number is closer to 1,800, with the others actually being produced the following year.

Brass cars attracting more interest Early brass cars — those built before 1915 — have attracted increasing interest of late. Once thought to be relics from our fathers, or in some cases our grandfathers, they are appealing to a new generation of hobbyists who find them mechanically interesting and intriguing to drive. The Horseless Carriage Club of America has regional groups in 30 states and sponsors tours and other activities. Their national tour, “California Dreamin’,” is scheduled for June 2008. The 111th London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, which this year features American automobiles built prior to 1905, attracts hundreds of entrants and thousands of spectators. In addition, John Mozart, a California collector and SCMer, sponsors a well-attended annual Brass Era Tour in the Paso Robles area, so there is no end to the activities available.

The value of Brass Era cars has been steadily increasing. A couple of years ago, 1903 Cadillac Model As were selling for $60,000-$70,000. Now they are bringing twice that much at auction. About a year ago, a friend sold a 1903 Cadillac similar to number 13 (but with an engine number that would indicate it was manufactured in 1904) for less than $100,000 and was pleased with the transaction. This 1903 number 13 Cadillac is significant for a number of reasons. It had one owner for over 75 years, it’s the first Cadillac shipped to a customer, the first car shipped west of the Mississippi, and the oldest documented surviving Cadillac. Does that increase the value of this car by $150,000 and justify this sales price? I think it does

In keeping with the “old-school” theme of this month’s Custom Classic Trucks, we put Jeff Costa’s flamed ‘54 F-100 from Petaluma, California, on the cover. That said, we’d bet it wasn’t two seconds before some of you jumped right out of your seats, and roared: “It’s a ‘55, not a ‘54!” That was our reaction too, so we asked Jeff if he would fill us in on what he knows about his Ford F-100’s history, and it went something like this:
Jeff became aware of this old Ford after a friend had spotted it sitting derelict in front of a house on the outskirts of town. Almost completely camouflaged from the street in a faded Metalflake Green, it displayed all the trappings of a ’70’s-style hot-rod pickup. Underneath the hood sat a crusty 460 Lincoln backed with a C6 Cruise-O-Matic and a Ford 9-inch bringing up the rear. Inside the cab, true to the era, rested a 12-inch Covico steering wheel plopped on top of a candy-green steering column that matched every interior piece that wasn’t covered in black tuck ‘n’ roll. When Jeff knocked on the front door, the youngster who answered it confirmed the truck was $1,500. He went on to explain that the F-100 once belonged to his dad, and that his grandfather bought the truck brand new in late ‘54 from Sanderson Ford in downtown Petaluma. Bearing in mind that anything is possible when it comes to old trucks, Jeff believes the kid’s story that his Grandpa’s ‘54 came new with a ‘55 grille.
By profession Jeff works as a building contractor who specializes in constructing monumental custom homes. When Jeff brought the ‘54 home, he intended to use it as a shop truck for Sonoma County Street Rodz-his hobby shop that, thanks to a circle of great friends and family, is fast becoming a second business. The original plan was to get busy and knock out a flat-black beauty in record time. The Sonoma County Street Rodz crew stuck to their punctual timeline by cranking the truck out as it appears here in only five months, but everything else about the build snowballed from basic to wild. Instead of the intended flat-black finish Jeff was planning on, his friend Jimmy Warren, a gifted custom painter with a knack for turning out showstoppers, convinced Jeff to go the high-profile glossy route. The first step to ready the ‘54 for paint before it went to Jimmy was to strip the Metalflake Green and original white paint down to the bare metal. Once the cab, doors, front fenders, and hood were media blasted, next in line was to procure a new set of rear fenders and a custom bed from Sacramento Vintage Ford Parts. From here, Jimmy proceeded to lay down the finest paint job he could, using as many economical materials as possible. For primer, Jimmy used Evercoat Feather Fill, a sprayable polyester that isn’t prone to shrinkage. After blocking the primer out, Jimmy sprayed 3 gallons of DuPont Imron Fire Protection Red sourced straight from DuPont’s industrial color chart. Following Jeff’s desire to create an “old-school” look, Jimmy engulfed the ‘54 in what he calls “Von Dutch”-style flames, using House of Kolor’s Sunrise Pearl spiked with Tangelo and then masking off Process Blue pinstripes. The finishing touch was a heavy topcoat of DuPont 72500S urethane clear.

Chevrolet Beat car model

GM is struggling to compete against the Japanese automaker in the US market as customers now prefer to buy fuel efficient cars rather than trucks and jeeps.

The company is now planning to launch a new Chevy branded mini car in the market which would be fuel efficient and cheap.

GM is considering bringing the Chevrolet Beat model in their home market.

Chevrolet Beat is going to take on Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris in international market and it might give them the much needed boost in USA.

The car is going to be manufactured in South Korea.

As businesses internationally are seeking out ways to cut costs and streamline their activities, business air charter service providers are making modifications to their fleet in order to cater to the demands of their clients. As a result of this shift, the super mid-sized category of charter aircrafts is quickly growing as the preferred business jet category. The super mid-sized category has been recently introduced and was developed to offer many of the benefits of the larger heavy jet category of aircrafts at more economical price. Many of the benefits businesses offered by the super mid-sized category are: the extended range of the aircraft, its increased seating capacity and high speed.

One of the fastest growing business jet charter aircrafts in the world is produced by United States based company Cessna. The Cessna Citation X is dominating the mid-sized jet category and for good reason. The Cessna Citation X is the fastest aircraft available for charter and offers business and private aviation users the benefits of non-stop cross country range. In less than 4 hours, a Citation X is capable of flying ten business executives from the executive airport at Van Nuys (VNY) in Southern California to Teterboro Executive Airport (TEB) near downtown New York and Manhattan.

The extended range and lightning quick speed of the Citation X allows it to cruise internationally as well. International charter flights from New York to London at one time required the charter of an expensive heavy jet like a Gulfstream GIV or Challenger 604. This is no longer the case. Not only can the Cessna Citation X fly across the pond; it can do it fast! The typical 6.5 to 7 hour flight can now be flown in just under 6 hours when one chooses to charter a Citation X.

The advantage of the speed and range provided by Cessna’s Citation X not only provide businesses travelers with valuable time savings, but also does so without sacrificing the comfort of a big cabin. The 24 foot long stand up cabin offers a spacious interior that can be configured to seat up to 12 executive travelers. The advanced avionics and aerodynamic design features of Cessna’s Citation X also allow it to utilize a larger number of executive airports than any other large jet; as it is capable of landing safely on a 5,000ft runway.

The ultra high performance statistics of the Cessna Citation X are very attractive selling points to both businesses and air charter providers, but the greatest and possibly most valuable asset this business jet has to offer is the low acquisition and operating costs associated with owning or chartering a Citation X. The purchase of a new Citation X aircraft can be purchased or financed from Cessna for under 20million and can be custom configured to suit your needs. Compare the price of a new Citation X to that of the order of a new Gulfstream G200 at up to 25million; one can instantly why the Citation X is so attractive. The lower acquisition costs of the Citation X translate into lower operating costs for air charter service providers. The impact of low operating costs on the Citation X has fueled the demand for this aircraft in the US business and private air charter market.

Cessna Citation X has led the way in defining luxury business air travel by constantly innovating and improving aircraft design and by providing significant value to their clients.

Limousines are a well-known form of transport for Presidents and Celebrities, but now they are a lot more than that and provide a multitude of luxury transport services. Limousines are the luxurious and elegant means of road travel. There are many services across America that run chartered services and you can charter limousines from them during your stay in the city.
Limousine vehicles come in many formats including the most popular stretch limo, which is basically a standard vehicle that has been professionally lengthened and fitted out with a range of luxuries. Fit out inside a stretch could include leather and wooden grain trim, bar, ice chest and coolers, LCD screens with DVD, Audio systems, play station games and even some with karaoke! Seating capacity depends on the vehicle and can range from 6 seats to 17 or more seats for the super stretch or limo bus style vehicles. Sedan limousines, often referred to as a Corporate Car / Hire Car / Town Car, is a luxury vehicle with a seating capacity of 5 people including the chauffeur. Sedan limos are popular for airport transfers, corporate work and general transfers. A lot of people use sedan limos for their dependability (being picked up on time) and quality of vehicle and in a lot of cases the cost is very comparable to other modes of transport.

Limousine and Chauffeur Driven service companies sometimes specialize in one form of vehicle whether it be a stretch or sedan and provide services especially for that market whereas some companies will provide a range of vehicle options which may include stretch, sedan, stretch SUV’s, mini buses and coaches. When you pay for luxury and class, you deserve nothing but the best. Services provided and rates differ from company to company and generally include Weddings, formals/proms, corporate transfers, tours, airport transfers and general transfers. Some companies offer preset itineraries for tours whether it be for winery tours, sight seeing tours, nightclub tours etc. or they can be as directed by you.

Rates are generally either charged by the hour or a set rate for the journey you are traveling. Some companies, in fact most, charge waiting time so if you leave the limo waiting it’s much like a taxi in that the meters running so to speak. Check with the operator as to how this applies. Limousines are popular, especially stretch SUV limos such as Stretch Hummer Limousine or a Stretch Excursion Limousine, for that wow factor needed to surprise and impress a loved one or for special occasions, which chauffeurs will provide that extra level of service to make it really something. They are also a competitive and dependable form of transport for general transfers like from airport to hotel transfers or trips to the football or events.

Most limousine companies in Orlando now offer a diverse and flexible range of services sometimes in a multitude of vehicle options added with high service levels, quality of vehicles and competitive rates, there is no reason not to consider a Chauffeured Limousine service for your next transport requirements.

People who are mobility challenged often find that a mobility scooter   can greatly increase their mobility and restore their independence. There are several options for purchasing a

. You can either buy it used from a private individual or from an auction site like EBay or you can buy it new from a reputable dealer. If you decide to buy it used you are taking a very big risk.

Many things that are sold used are in poor condition and have been misused. You are frequently inheriting someone else’s problem and have no way to know if the device is in working order or safe. You might end up having to replace the batteries or tires and it can be hard to spot a scooter that has been misused.

You also run into a lot of no-name generic scooters on places like EBay. These are mass produced in a place like China or India and are frequently not held to the same high standard as those made by reputable companies like Pride or Golden.

It is far better to purchase a mobility scooter new from a reputable dealer. This way you are guaranteed that the device is in perfect working order and will provide years of reliable service. Golden and Pride both offer very comprehensive warranties on their new scooters, so if something does not function properly, you can have it quickly repaired at no cost to you.

You are taking a very large risk when you purchase a mobility scooter used and when you factor in the cost of repairs, it often ends up costing just as much if not more than a mobility scooter that was purchased new. Saving a little money is never worth risking your safety or that of a loved one and this is what you do when you buy a used mobility scooter.
